Another difference between the vintage and new models is the dial, the black dial on the 2022 version has a slightly grained surface, bringing a little extra visual interest to the mostly matte finish. The funky facets and applied markers on the dial's poles remain, as does the ultra-cool Ultra-Chron logo, which almost resembles a thunderbolt on the side.

The new model also features a slightly tweaked central seconds hand compared to its predecessor. Whereas the original Ultra-Chron Diver replica watch had an arrowed, luminescent seconds hand, the one released today is a simple, slim steel seconds hand with a slight faceting and no luminescent application.

Only watches that emerge from these 15 days with an average daily variation of -4 and +6 seconds can be considered Longines' "ultra-precision timepieces".
