Omega sourced the malachite for this dial from South Africa, one of several African countries where some of the finest malachite is mined today. The case (also 41 mm) is made of yellow gold, something of a rarity in the watch world these days, as are the faceted hands and the rotating divers’ bezel. The insert on the bezel is here made of polished green ceramic with a Ceragold dive scale. The matching dark green leather strap completes the package.


Movement

Both new watches are equipped with Omega's Master Chronometer Caliber 8913, a self-winding co-axial movement with 39 jewels, a 25,200-vph balance frequency, and a 60-hour power reserve. Like all Omega’s Master Chronometer calibers, it boasts a high degree of precision and antimagnetic properties and has been certified for its chronometric performance by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
